Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a supervisor to oversee daily operations of the laboratory section, ensuring accurate testing and diagnosis support. You will supervise procedures, maintain analyzers, and manage quality control under established policies.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, 3 years of clinical experience, and certification in medical technology with MT/MLS credentials. Supervisory experience is preferred.

• Other bachelor's degrees accepted if science and math coursework meet certifying agency requirements

• Certification in medical technology; MT/MLS through ASCP/AMT/AAB; AAB provisional not accepted

The supervisor will oversee that the maintenance of the analyzers, quality control, collection of specimens, maintaining of supplies in accordance with standards of practice and established policy and procedure. The supervisor will provide recommendations and action plans for the improvement of system processes in their section and/or area.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
• Other bachelor's degrees will be accepted if graduated from an accredited school and science and math coursework meet requirement of certifying agency. Bachelor's degree may be waived for a medical technologist who was ASCP certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degree requirements by ASCP and a HEW/HSS technologist certified by Health and Human Services.

Work Experience

• 3 years of clinical experience preferably in an acute care hospital setting. Required
