Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, GA is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily lab operations. You will ensure accurate testing, maintain analyzers, and support quality control initiatives in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, ASCP/AMT/AAB certification, and at least 3 years of acute care lab experience with supervisory preference. Leadership and compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• ASCP/AMT/AAB certification required as specified by certifying agency.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the laboratory section and/or area.
• Oversee maintenance of analyzers, quality control, collection of specimens, and maintenance of supplies in accordance with standards and procedures.
• Provide recommendations and action plans to improve system processes in their section/area.

Responsibilities

The supervisor provides direct supervision of the daily operations of the laboratory section and/or area. The supervisor will oversee and efficientlyperform procedures and test as ordered for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. The supervisor will oversee that the maintenance of the analyzers, quality control, collection of specimens, maintaining of supplies in accordance with standards of practice and established policy and procedure. The supervisor will provide recommendations and action plans for the improvement of system processes in their section and/or area.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
• Other bachelor's degrees will be accepted if graduated from an accredited school and science andmath coursework meet requirement of certifying agency. Bachelor's degree may be waived for amedical technologist who was ASCP certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degreerequirements by ASCP and a HEW/HSS technologist certified by Health and Human Services

Work Experience

• 3 years of clinical experience preferably in an acute care hospital setting. Required
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required
• Previous supervisory experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Management of Clinical Laboratory only:Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) . AAB provisional certification not accepted Required
