Job Summary

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the technical oversight activities of their specific department(s). The Supervisor does not always need to be on site while testing is performed; however, when on site, they will work at a technical bench and be available for technical questions. The Supervisor will cover any shift to manage unplanned absences and provides direct supervision to team leads, technical staff, and lab assistants within their department(s). They may also supervise other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, or chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution.
• Five years of laboratory training and/or experience, including at least 4 years of high complexity testing experience.
• MT(ASCP) or MLS certification, or MLT(ASCP) with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Meet the requirements for Technical Supervisor under CLIA 88.

Experience:

• Six years’ experience in a hospital laboratory setting.
• Two years of full-time supervisor experience or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a lead technologist.
