Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a Facilities Manager in Jacksonville, FL for St. Vincent's Riverside Medical Center.

The role, within the Facilities department, requires evenings shift, full-time schedule, and oversight of building systems, maintenance, and staffing to ensure safe, compliant operations. You will manage vendor relationships, drive cost controls and efficiency, and support regulatory compliance and audits while collaborating with leadership and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of experience in maintenance and operation of a physical plant or large facility.
• Three years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission, NFPA and healthcare facility regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supports facilities operations by managing building systems, maintenance, grounds, energy use and inventories.
• Oversees staffing activities including scheduling, training and daily assignments.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., TJC) including audits and inspections.
• Manages vendor and contractor relationships, project coordination, bid processes and performance monitoring.
• Supports budget management by coordinating with vendors and Purchasing and aligning with financial goals.
• Drives process improvement and maintains strong internal communication with stakeholders, vendors and leadership.

• Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., TJC), including conducting audits, maintaining documentation, and supporting inspections.
• Manages vendor and contractor relationships, including project coordination, bid processes, and monitoring performance for repairs, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Supports budget management by reviewing purchase requests, coordinating with vendors and Purchasing, and ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
• Drives process improvement and operational efficiency while maintaining strong communication and customer service with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

Qualifications

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

• Requirement of High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Five years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of a physical plant and/or building maintenance for a large facility

Preferred Experience:

• Three years’ experience in a large, multi-campus healthcare system.
• Three years’ supervisory experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities.
