Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a facilities technician in Jacksonville, FL to maintain and test hospital equipment, HVAC, and plumbing, ensuring safe high-traffic areas such as walkways and entryways. You will support the hospital’s facilities team at St. Vincent's Hospital-Riverside.

The role focuses on routine maintenance, minor repairs, and safe handling of materials and equipment, all while adhering to safety and regulatory codes. A strong service mindset and reliability are essential to success.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the testing, inspection, implementation, and overall upkeep of facility equipment, structures, and systems.
• Conducts routine manufacturer-specified maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems, while handling minor repairs like replacing bulbs and fixing leaks.
• Ensures high-traffic areas remain safe and free of debris, hazards, snow, and ice.
• Manages the distribution of materials, moving furniture, equipment, and files between facility locations or storage.
• Conducts daily checks and basic repairs on medical transport gear (wheelchairs), nurse call systems, and utility panels following safety and regulatory codes.
