Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead maintenance operations at St. Vincent Fishers in Fishers, IN. You will oversee building systems, energy use, and equipment inventories to ensure safe, compliant facility operations.

The role focuses on staffing, budgeting, and coordination with vendors within a large healthcare setting, driving continuous improvement and exceptional service. This on-site position offers day shift, full-time hours in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Five years’ experience in maintenance and operation of a physical plant and/or building maintenance for a large facility.
• Knowledge and experience with healthcare facility regulations (Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal).

Responsibilities

• Supports facilities operations by managing building systems, maintenance, grounds, energy use, and inventories to ensure safe operations.
• Oversees staffing activities including scheduling, training, and daily work assignments to maintain coverage and team performance.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards and supports inspections.
• Manages vendor and contractor relationships, including project coordination, bid processes, and monitoring performance.
• Supports budget management by reviewing purchase requests and coordinating with vendors and Purchasing.
• Drives process improvement and maintains strong communication with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

• Oversees staffing activities including scheduling, training, and daily work assignments to maintain appropriate coverage and team performance.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., TJC), including conducting audits, maintaining documentation, and supporting inspections.
• Manages vendor and contractor relationships, including project coordination, bid processes, and monitoring performance for repairs, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Supports budget management by reviewing purchase requests, coordinating with vendors and Purchasing, and ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
• Drives process improvement and operational efficiency while maintaining strong communication and customer service with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

Qualifications

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education

• Requirement of High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Five years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of a physical plant and/or building maintenance for a large facility

Preferred Experience

• Three years’ experience in a large, multi-campus healthcare system
• Three years’ supervisory experience
• Knowledge and experience with Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities
