Job summary

Ridgeview Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to oversee EVS staff and daily operations within the hospital environment. The role supports the Manager by coordinating schedules, workloads, and performance for the team to uphold high cleanliness standards.

The successful candidate will lead staff, conduct reviews, participate in hiring and orientation, and drive process improvements through data-driven analysis and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years Environmental Services (EVS) supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated EVS Best Practices knowledge.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily staff schedules to ensure all runs and shifts are covered.
  • Manage daily run sheets for staff to ensure areas are cleaned and disinfected properly.
  • Monitor daily workloads and adjust staff as needed.
  • Provide leadership and guidance, complete performance reviews, assist in hiring and orientation, and drive process improvements.
  • Identify and drive improvement projects through observation, data analysis, and collaboration with leadership and staff.
  • Generate and track work orders for staff.
  • Vary schedule to meet organizational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Purpose of the Job

This position is responsible for managing Environmental Service Techs and daily workflow. The Supervisor position will assist the Manager in managing all department processes to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in assigned areas of Ridgeview's building(s).

Job Functions

1. Manage daily staff schedules to ensure all runs and shifts are covered.

2. Manage daily run sheets for staff to ensure areas are cleaned and disinfected properly.

3. Monitors daily workloads and adjusts staff as needed.

4. Provides leadership and guidance to staff as needed, completes performance reviews, assists in hiring process, orientation of new employees and process improvement.

5. Proactively identifies and acts upon improvement projects and opportunities through observation, data analysis, engagement with partners, review of external impact factors and best practices, as well as ongoing communication with leadership and staff.

6. Generates and tracks work orders for staff.

7. Varies schedule to meet the needs of the organization.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-years Environmental Services (EVS) experience
  • Demonstrated experience in EVS Best Practices
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills
  • 2+years supervisory experience
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities
  • Professional presence and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coach a team
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills and ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Ensures excellent service with a high degree of urgency to internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated computer aptitude to include ability to effectively utilize the Kronos system and Microsoft suite
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Healthcare related experience

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
