Position Summary
The Eligibility Services Department at Allied is responsible for understanding the overall process flow of Eligibility, Prescription Benefit Manager (PBM), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and COBRA. Our overall Eligibility Services team is responsible for overseeing daily eligibility services operations. This includes issue resolution and quality assurance.
In addition, this role may also specialize in ID Card and Workflow processes. This will entail overseeing the end-to-end production, quality assurance, and distribution of member ID cards. Key responsibilities will be ensuring all ID card – related operations are executed accurately, efficiently, and on time, while driving process improvements, resolving escalations, and adherence to internal and external-facing SLAs
Essential Functions
- Maintain accurate logs and reporting for tracking production metrics and turnaround times
- Communicate status updates, issues, and recommendations to management
- Establish and maintain efficient workflows and quality control measures
- Recommend creative approaches to overcoming obstacles to achieve results
- May oversee daily eligibility services operations and supervise daily ID card processing activities, including requirements intake, validation, production and mailing workflows
- Responsible for one-on-one meetings, performance appraisals, growth opportunities and attracting new talent. Ensuring that team members are being coached and developed, providing constructive feedback and additional training as needed.
- Provide feedback, coaching, and guidance when appropriate to facilitate development the eligibility services team
- Execute effective resolution for escalated client issues and inform the appropriate Allied team(s)
- Serve as a point of contact to other departments for escalated eligibility services issues and coordinate with internal teams to troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Oversee the new business and renewal process and delegates work as needed
- Maintain a “sense of urgency” resulting in the ability to influence the organization to exceed performance standards and customer expectations
- Communicate monthly client service turnaround times and key performance indicator (KPI) data to management
- Responsible for scheduling, managing workflows and priorities, and communicating with other supervisors as needed to ensure effective teamwork
- Knowledge of practices and procedures within Eligibility, PBM, FSA and COBRA plan administration
- Clearly communicate expectations, provide employees with the training, resources, and information needed to succeed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Experience And Skills
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Health Insurance and Eligibility Services environment required.
- Must possess demonstrated supervisor potential (i.e. previous team lead role, project leader, etc,) is required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel programs and have the ability to easily learn other data systems (ticketing systems, design portals for ID Cards, etc.).
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general plan benefits and guidelines.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively respond to questions from management, co-workers, members, providers, and clients.
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
