Job summary

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) in Maryland is seeking a Commitment Records Supervisor to oversee inmate commitment records, ensure accurate calculations of sentences, and maintain compliance with state laws.

Responsibilities include supervising lower-level staff, collaborating with attorneys and court officials, and supporting 24/7 call-in readiness in a correctional environment; evening/weekend/overtime work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience reviewing, verifying, and interpreting information to determine prison sentence calculations.
• One year of this experience must involve leading the work of Commitment Records staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise commitment records files and ensure accurate calculation of incarcerations in compliance with state laws.
• Provide information and resolve concerns with the public, incarcerated individuals, attorneys, and officials.
• Supervise lower‑level Commitment Records Specialists and coordinate with management.
