Job summary

State of Maryland is seeking a Commitment Records Supervisor to oversee the maintenance of commitment records, ensure accurate calculation of incarcerated individuals’ sentences, and resolve related issues. You will interact with attorneys and officials to provide information and resolve concerns, while supervising junior staff.

This role requires coordinating with supervisors and headquarters staff, with potential call-ins around the clock.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• Experience: 3 years in reviewing, verifying, and interpreting information to determine and resolve prison sentence calculations.
• One year of this experience must include leading Commitment Records staff.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain commitment records files and resolve problems in sentence calculations.
• Ensure compliance with state laws, court orders, and DPSCS regulations.
• Supervise lower-level Commitment Records Specialists and provide guidance.
