Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a Ramp Supervisor to oversee loading and unloading of luggage and cargo on commercial aircraft at our Harlingen, TX location. The role includes supervising ramp staff, mentoring teammates, and adhering to safety policies.

You will operate small motorized equipment and help ensure efficient, safe handling of goods. Ideal candidates will have ramp/airline experience, be 18+, hold a valid US driver’s license, and clear pre-employment drug testing.

Qualifications

• Prior Ramp/Airline experience required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lead agents and allocate ramp resources as needed.
• Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and between facilities.
• Ensure ramp personnel follow safety regulations.
• Mentor and train new employees; participate in hiring and evaluations.
• Prepare shift reports and timecards; support disciplinary actions as needed.
• Read and interpret loading instructions and weight/balance documents.
• Operate motorized equipment as required.

Role Purpose

The Ramp Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the unloading and loading of luggage, freight and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. The Ramp Supervisor will also drive and operate small specialized commercial vehicles. This position will require heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.

What you will be doing

• Supervise lead agents; allocating ramp agent resources as needed
• Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, air cargo facilities, and other aircraft
• Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to established company safety regulations
• Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
• Some responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy
• Complete shift reports and sign timecards
• Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
• Prepare disciplinary incident and or termination reports
• Assist in the baggage handling area
• Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
• Operate motorized equipment
