Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Nashville, TN, is seeking a full-time Ramp Agent to help flights run on time by handling baggage and cargo, moving equipment, and following loading instructions.

You will lift up to 70 lbs, work outdoors in all weather, pass drug tests, maintain safety rules, and obtain airport badges; a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs repeatedly and safely.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean record in past 5 years.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather and variable shifts including weekends/holidays.
• Must read, write, and speak fluent English and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Move baggage and cargo to and from aircraft and between locations.
• Operate ground support equipment and guide aircraft to gates.
• Read weight and balance loading instructions and related manifests.
• Maintain detailed records of shipped goods and cargo routing.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Role Purpose

Menzies Aviation is seeking a full-time diligent Ramp Agent to join our Team. The Ramp Agent plays an important role in ensuring that flights run on time by maintaining detailed records of shipped goods, moving baggage and cargo from aircraft, and guiding aircraft to and from their gates.

What you will be doing

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching push/pulling, stacking and kneeling insmall, confinedlocations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have high school diploma, GED or six months prior ramp agent work experience.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test.
• Capable of safelylifting upto 70 lbs. continuously.
• Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no violations over the past 5 years
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Work is done primarily outdoors. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.
