Job summary

Watson Refrigeration in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Supermarket Refrigeration Service Technician to support grocery stores in the Raleigh area. You will troubleshoot and repair supermarket rack systems, walk-ins, and freezers to keep food at safe temperatures and stores running smoothly.

You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues, perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, and communicate with store managers about repairs and follow-up needs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience servicing supermarket refrigeration equipment and parallel rack systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and understanding of refrigeration operation.
• Experience diagnosing refrigeration controls, defrost issues, and temperature problems.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize service needs, and know when to ask for support.
• Clear communication and dependable follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service, and repair supermarket refrigeration equipment, including parallel rack systems, refrigerated cases, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues and make effective repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve reliability and catch problems before they become emergency calls.
• Troubleshoot compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, defrost systems, and refrigeration controls.
• Read wiring diagrams and schematics to identify problems and determine the next steps.
• Communicate clearly with store managers about equipment issues, repairs, and follow-up needs.
• Complete accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and refrigerant handling.
• Follow safety procedures and applicable refrigerant handling requirements.
