Job summary

Hunter Roberts Construction Group in New York is seeking a Senior Superintendent Level 5 to lead field operations on major projects. The role focuses on safety leadership, QA/QC, and coordinating trades to maintain schedule and compliance with NYC regulations.

You will manage project engineers, oversee daily/ monthly reporting, and ensure permits and inspections with DOB/FDNY while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with the PM team to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 7+ years of construction experience.
  • Experience managing 4+ direct reports.
  • NYCDOB registration required.
  • NYC DOB SST Card required.

Responsibilities

  • Create layout of jobsite and assist Project Manager in setting up the job.
  • Understand and implement Local Law 196 and safety plans.
  • Coordinate work of all team members and enforce QA/QC plan.
  • Develop, maintain and review the project schedule and ROJ log.
  • Manage permits, inspections and regulatory communications (DOB/FDNY).
  • Lead project engineers and junior superintendents on the project.
  • Attend OAC and coordinate with PM team to maintain schedule.

Job Description

Title: Superintendent Level 5

Department: New York Operations

Reports To: Superintendent, Senior Superintendent and/or Project Manager by project

Knowledge
  • Knowledgeable in multiple trades including MEPS
  • Subject matter expert on OSHA, NYCDOB, and FDNY regulations
  • Subject matter expert on Local Law 196
Skills
  • Create layout of jobsite and assist Project Manager in setting up the job
  • Understand and comprehend daily huddles, pre-task plans and Local Law 196
  • Create and enforce project site safety plan
  • Create project logistic plans and coordinate the work of all team members
  • Create, manage, and enforce projects QA/QC plan
  • Leader of safety on the jobsite
  • Train project staff on how to complete quality DBO2's
  • Hold specialty partners accountable for quality of work or install
  • Responsible for DOB, FDNY etc. for visits, permits, violations etc.
  • Write and review Exhibit A's
  • Collaborate with PM team to develop the ROJ log and confirm dates will maintain the project schedule
  • Create and review RFI's
  • Compare submittals to design drawings and intent, assess and communicate any sequence changes for materials or ROJ line items
  • Contribute to OAC Meetings
  • Manage and lead project engineers (field) and assistant superintendents on the project
  • Understand, review and enforce all contracts including potential delays and impacts
  • Complete all required daily and a monthly report
  • Develop, update and maintain the complete project schedule
  • Create and manage TCP, DOH, punch list and NRC processes
Ability
  • Able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders including owner, architect, and owner's representative
  • Able to manage their own project with limited oversight
  • Able to manage and lead 2 or more direct reports
  • Ability to stay calm while under pressure
  • Must be able and willing to develop and mentor junior staff
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of construction experience
  • Experience of managing 4 or more direct reports
  • NYCDOB Registration required
  • NYC DOB SST Card required
Benefits and Salary

Salary Range - 155,000- 185,000

The above salary range represents Hunter Roberts's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards Hunter Roberts provides to employees.
