Responsibilities

• Lead on-site project operations and serve as first contact for general contractors, foremen, project managers, and safety personnel.
• Maintain clear communication, build collaborative relationships, and resolve issues affecting safety, quality, cost or schedule.
• Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, deliveries, and day-to-day activities to meet milestones.
• Establish priorities, assign work, monitor progress, and address manpower or resource needs.
• Conduct routine site inspections for compliance with specifications, safety and cost controls.
• Maintain project documentation including daily progress reports and schedules.
• Coordinate with safety professionals to support training, audits, and corrective actions.
• Review drawings, provide field guidance on installation methods, and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Monitor costs, investigate variances, and obtain approval for significant purchases.
• Support equipment reliability through preventive maintenance and timely repair coordination.
• Address field-team concerns and maintain productive, respectful job sites.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Superintendent is responsible for utilizing resources effectively and for planning, organizing, supervising, and directing the daily activities, safety, and schedules of personnel appointed to Valley project sites.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead on-site project operations and serve as the first contact for general contractors, foremen, project managers, and safety personnel.
• Maintain clear communication, build collaborative relationships, and resolve issues that affect safety, quality, cost, or schedule.
• Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, deliveries, and day-to-day project activities to meet milestones.
• Partner with foremen and project leadership to establish priorities, assign work, monitor progress, and address manpower or resource needs.
• Conduct routine site inspections to confirm compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cost controls.
• Maintain required project documentation, including daily progress reports, schedules, change-related information, and risk updates.
• Coordinate with internal and external safety professionals to support training, audits, incident reporting, corrective actions, and a safety-first culture.
• Review drawings and specifications, provide field guidance on installation methods, and communicate site changes or deviations to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor project costs, investigate variances, and obtain approval for significant purchases as required.
• Support equipment reliability through preventive-maintenance oversight and timely repair coordination.
• Address field-team concerns, coordinate with unions, and help maintain productive, respectful job sites.
• Promote a positive culture and working environment, Valley’s mission, values, standards, and company priorities across all assigned projects.

WHO YOU ARE

• Experience: Construction background, with drywall experience preferred. Experience leading groups preferred.
• Education: Highschool diploma required; college and/or field experience preferred.
• Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Reasoning and Development: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables and excellent grasp of process management.
• Mathematical Development: Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure. Ability to compute percentages, interest, profit and loss; basic statistics, ability to read and use graphs/charts and general algebra.
• Language Development: Ability to read technical manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The physical demands of this position require the ability to communicate orally and in writing, hear at a conversational level, use both hands, distinguish depth, and operate a motor vehicle.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently (34-66% time on job) be required to sit, use fingers. Occasionally (6-33% time on job) the employee will be required to stand, walk, grip with pressure, and twist or bend wrists. Infrequently (2-5% time on job) the employee may be required to climb up to 5 flights of stairs, carry 10 lbs. up to 10 ft., and keep wrists and feet in prolonged positions of flexion or extension. Rarely (1% time on the job or less) the employee will be required to stoop, balance, kneel, crawl, reach, repeatedly bend, perform hand over hand pulling, twist while rotating the torso, climb ladders up to 6 ft., pull 5 lbs. up to 5 ft., push 10 lbs. up to 10 ft., lift up to 35 lbs., and use hand and foot controls.
