Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Local Chicago Superintendent to lead ground-up multifamily construction projects. This permanent, on-site role requires taking charge from conception through completion, coordinating with architects and engineers, and keeping projects on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in construction, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Competitive compensation with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in construction. Must have experience running your own projects.
• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, means and methods, safety regulations, and building codes.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, multifamily construction projects from start to finish.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency in project management software.
• Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the entire lifecycle of multifamily construction projects, from initial conception to final completion.
• Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
• Managing the budget, timeline, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Conducting regular site visits to monitor the project and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Resolving any issues or delays that may affect the timeline of the project.
• Communicating effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders to keep them informed about the project progress.
• Preparing and presenting project updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
• Negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
