Job summary

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in ground-up or commercial construction, excellent leadership and communication, and proficiency with Procore.

We are partnering with a well-established San Antonio-based commercial general contractor that is looking to add an experienced Superintendent to its local field team.

This is an opportunity to join a contractor that has been building throughout Central Texas for nearly 40 years and has completed 6,000+ projects totaling more than $1.5B in construction value. The company has built a strong reputation around repeat clients, quality construction, and retaining its people long term.

Their San Antonio team works across a diverse mix of ground-up construction, renovations, and high-end commercial interiors, including:

• Healthcare & medical facilities
• Corporate office
• Industrial & warehouse

• Historic renovations
• Specialty commercial projects

Typical ground-up projects can range from approximately $1M-$30M, giving Superintendents the opportunity to run meaningful projects without getting lost inside a massive corporate structure.

We are looking for a Superintendent who can take ownership of the field and lead commercial projects from mobilization through closeout. You will work closely with the Project Manager while serving as the primary field leader responsible for the schedule, subcontractors, safety, quality, coordination, and day-to-day execution of the project. This is a strong fit for someone who wants long-term stability with a respected local contractor where Superintendents are trusted to run their jobs and are not treated like another number.

• Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation
• Manage punch list, commissioning, turnover, and project closeout
• Build strong relationships with clients and trade partners

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably with a general contractor
• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Lead Superintendent
• Experience independently running commercial projects is strongly preferred
• Ground-up commercial construction experience is highly desirable
• Experience with healthcare, office, industrial, retail, restaurant, hospitality, or commercial interiors is a plus
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Strong scheduling and subcontractor-management skills
• Excellent communication and leadership ability
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and quality control
• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in the field
• OSHA 30 preferred
• Procore or similar construction-management software experience is a plus
