Job summary

Pop-Up Talent seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead field execution of commercial construction projects from mobilization through final completion and closeout. This role focuses on safely driving projects to milestone dates while coordinating subcontractors and ensuring quality.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of field supervision, strong scheduling skills (MS Project), Procore proficiency, and the ability to proactively resolve design and coordination issues.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years of commercial construction field supervision experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing and constructability.
• Ability to independently lead commercial construction projects in the field.
• Strong understanding of schedules, sequencing, milestones and project constraints.
• Experience developing and updating construction schedules; MS Project preferred.
• Ability to read architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing docs.
• Strong subcontractor coordination and field leadership skills.
• Knowledge of inspections, permits, safety requirements and QC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and teams.
• Ground-up commercial construction experience preferred; healthcare/renovation experience desirable.

Responsibilities

Job description

• We are looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead the field execution of commercial construction projects from mobilization through final completion and closeout.
• Our Superintendents are typically assigned to one project at a time, allowing them to focus on safely and successfully driving that project to completion
• The Superintendent is the field leader responsible for site operations, safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, schedule execution, and maintaining a clear path to project milestones and the contractual completion date. The Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager and project team to identify and resolve constructability, procurement, design, and coordination issues before they affect the work
• We are looking for a proactive field leader—not someone who simply reacts to daily jobsite issues. The right person understands where the project needs to be next week and next month, identifies what could prevent the team from getting there, and takes action early to keep the project moving forward

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5+ years of commercial construction field supervision experience
• Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, trade coordination, and constructability
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead commercial construction projects in the field
• Strong understanding of construction schedules, sequencing, milestones, and critical project constraints
• Experience developing, maintaining, and updating construction schedules; Microsoft Project experience preferred
• Ability to read and understand architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction documents
• Strong subcontractor coordination and field leadership skills
• Working knowledge of inspections, permitting, safety requirements, and construction quality control
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal project teams
• Procore proficiency strongly preferred , including field documentation, drawings, RFIs, submittals, photographs, and reporting
• Ground-up commercial construction experience preferred
• Healthcare construction, renovation, and occupied-facility experience is highly desirable
• Familiarity with City of Austin and Central Texas construction requirements is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience will be considered
