Construction Superintendent

Location: Austin, Texas

Job Description

Construction superintendents are responsible for the daily operations of an assigned construction project, from preconstruction through substantial completion. Duties will vary depending on the type of project.

• Procurement
• Scheduling
• Subcontractor agreement preparation
• Daily on‑site supervision of subcontractors
• Daily reports and progress tracking
• Management of on‑site consultants and vendors
• Quality control and quality assurance
• Accountability for all divisional costs
• Knowledge, understanding and management of cost accounting and P&L
• Assisting the senior construction manager on estimating
• Monitoring site safety and SWWPP programs

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ commercial construction experience
• Experience in ground‑up commercial construction
• Financial construction management experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), MicroProject, and Procore
• Ability to write detailed daily tracking logs
• Ability to draft professional correspondence to vendors, subcontractors, government, municipal officials, etc.
• Strong understanding of blueprints, construction documents, contracts, and legal terminology
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong cost management and execution skills
• Understanding of ABC/UBC/NEC/FPA codes and compliance
• Ability to estimate and submit cost estimates to upper management/owners
• Experience dealing with city municipalities, owners, and investors
• Travel within Texas may be required
