Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• At least 2 years managing commercial construction or renovation projects in occupied facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and shop drawings.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling software, MS Office, and mobile field reporting apps.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily field operations for ground-up and renovation projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, facility personnel, and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to hit milestones.
• Enforce safety policies, OSHA requirements, and site safety plans.

• Review drawings, specs, RFIs, submittals, and changes for field execution.
• Manage logistics in occupied environments with minimal disruption.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial construction ground up and renovation projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience managing commercial construction, coordinating multiple trades, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety while working in occupied facilities, confined campuses/sites, and active multi phased construction projects.

This position requires communication, planning, and leadership skills, along with a thorough understanding of commercial construction regulations, safety regulations, and the unique operational requirements of occupied facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all daily field operations for commercial construction projects, both ground up and renovation.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, facility personnel, and project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones and completion dates are achieved.
• Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety plans.
• Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, contract documents, industry standards, and quality expectations.
• Conduct daily site inspections and proactively resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and project closeout documentation.
• Maintain detailed daily reports documenting labor, progress, weather, deliveries, inspections, and field conditions.
• Lead subcontractor meetings and communicate project updates with project managers and clients.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders to ensure accurate field execution.
• Manage project logistics in occupied environments while minimizing disruption to end users and facility operations.
• Ensure projects comply with all applicable building codes, life safety requirements, and owner standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• At least 2 years managing commercial construction or renovation projects in occupied facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and shop drawings.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.

• Proficiency using construction management software, scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and mobile field reporting applications.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with heavy commercial renovations, ground up construction and work in restrictive site environments.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code requirements.
• Experience with electronic project management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, or similar software.
