Job summary

PREMIER Design + Build Group is seeking a field superintendent to oversee on-site operations for diverse construction projects in Reno, NV. You will coordinate subcontractors, materials, and inspections to ensure work is completed on schedule and in strict accordance with plans and codes.

You will maintain daily logs, lead safety checks, and participate in subcontractor meetings to align priorities with project budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up project trailer and opens jobsite daily, secures at day end.
  • Organizes trailer project files and plans on a plan rack.
  • Attends weekly subcontractor meetings; prepares agenda and minutes; maintains two‑week look ahead schedules.
  • Verifies subcontractor insurance and contract five days before work begins.
  • Ensures subcontractors follow contracted scope and Premier safety policies.
  • Coordinates required inspections with local authorities.
  • Schedules all subcontractor activities and tracks progress for alignment with plan.
  • Identifies conflicts in construction progress and informs project team for resolution.
  • Maintains a written daily jobsite activity log.
  • Collects and submits Toolbox Meeting outlines weekly to the office.
  • Performs daily on-site inspections, enforcing OSHA and PPE requirements.
  • Represents the company professionally in meetings and field communications.
  • Completes weekly safety checklists and reports incidents to Director of Field Operations within 24 hours.
  • Performs related duties and takes ownership of assigned projects.

Job description

The field superintendent is responsible for the day to day operations on-site and provides management for
all phases of client construction projects including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, scheduling, inspections,
quality control and job site safety. The field superintendent is responsible for and will be held accountable for the timely
completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local
codes. Project types will generally fit into one of the following categories: ground-up (concrete tilt wall, industrial, office and
medical), tenant improvement/build-out, and tenant remodel. Working with subcontractors and internal project management, the
field superintendent ensures that project specifications are being strictly followed and work is proceeding on schedule, within
budget, and in adherence to project standards and contract specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Sets up project trailer, opens the jobsite at beginning of the day/secures the jobsite at the end of the day.
  2. Organizes trailer project files and plans on a plan rack.
  3. Actively participates in weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work. Prepares meeting agenda and
    minutes as well as two-week look ahead schedules.
  4. Verifies subcontractor has signed contract and proper certificate of insurance in place five (5) days prior to beginning
    scheduled work on jobsite.
  5. Ensures that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with contracted scope of work. Enforces and informs
    subcontractor requirements, terms and conditions, and the PREMIER safety control policies and project specifications.
  6. Coordinates required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  7. Coordinates and schedules all subcontractor activities. Identifies subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and
    environmental quality standards.
  8. Identifies conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  9. Maintains daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite.
  10. Collects and maintains subcontractor “Toolbox Meeting Outlines” and submits to office weekly.
  11. Performs daily jobsite inspections and requires adherence to all applicable OSHA regulations and PPE.
  12. Represents company professionally in project meetings, subcontractor and field communications.
  13. Completes weekly jobsite safety checklists and submits to general superintendent. Reports any onsite incident and/or
    accidents to Director of Field Operations within 24 hours of incident/accident.
  14. Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates taking full ownership of assigned projects.
