Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Paving Superintendent to direct on-site operations for asphalt paving and heavy civil construction projects out of Gillette, WY. This is a critical field leadership role designed for a hands-on professional who excels at crew management, resource allocation, and job site execution. Directing Foremen and field personnel, you will serve as the primary operational leader on-site, ensuring projects are built safely, on schedule, within budget, and to exact quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Field Leadership & Supervision: Provide direct leadership to Foremen, paving crews, and subcontractors; allocate labor, equipment, and materials to hit daily operational targets.
• Schedule & Execution Management: Review project plans and specifications to coordinate daily work, monitor milestones, manage material deliveries (asphalt, aggregates, concrete), and adjust operations to keep builds strictly on schedule.
• Budget & Cost Control: Work closely with Project Managers to review job costs, track productivity, optimize resource usage, and minimize project delays or overages.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Champion job site safety culture, ensure active site inspections and valid utility locates are conducted prior to work, and enforce compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Team Development & Administration: Mentor Foremen and field personnel, assist with performance management, inspect machinery for proper maintenance, and submit accurate daily field paperwork.

Education and Qualifications:

• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required (degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred), paired with 5+ years of experience in asphalt paving, road, or bridge construction.
• Supervisory Experience: 3+ years in a field supervisory role with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and hold field crews accountable under deadline pressure.
• Technical & Plan Reading Skills: Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and technical documents, coupled with basic knowledge of job costing and estimation.
• Software & Technology: Familiarity with mobile devices (iOS/Android) and standard software, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Professional Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus); physical ability to navigate active job sites, climb equipment, and handle outdoor conditions; willingness to work flexible hours and travel locally as required.
