Job summary

High Country Search Group in Gillette, WY is seeking a Senior Project Manager & Estimator to lead heavy civil and municipal infrastructure projects. This dual-role combines hands-on estimating with full lifecycle project execution, taking ownership of planning, budgets, schedules, and team development.

You will guide bids for heavy highway, municipal and utility work, oversee field coordination, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading heavy highway, municipal, or commercial construction projects.
• 3+ years supervisory experience with hiring, mentoring, and accountability.
• Strong background in hard bidding, quantity take-offs, and competitive bid submission.
• Proficiency with industry software such as HCSS, Bluebeam Revu, MS Project, and standard office software.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Lead hard bid processes, assemble accurate cost estimates, respond to bid requests, and oversee total project bidding for heavy highway, municipal, and utility infrastructure projects.
• Manage projects from pre-construction through final closeout, overseeing schedules, subcontracts, material orders, and equipment needs.
• Take full ownership of job costs, profitability, revenue forecasting, billing, and margin tracking; review goals with leadership and implement cost-reduction strategies.
• Direct and mentor project managers, estimators, and field staff; coordinate daily operations with Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state environmental and safety regulations.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager & Estimator to lead heavy civil and municipal infrastructure projects out of Gillette, WY. This is a dual-threat leadership role designed for a hands-on professional who excels at both hard bidding/estimating and full-lifecycle project execution. You will serve as the primary operational leader, taking full ownership of project planning, financial performance, field coordination, and team development while maintaining uncompromising standards for safety and quality.

• Professional Requirements: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, physical ability to navigate active job sites in varying weather conditions, and flexibility for local travel and occasional overnight stays.
