Job Description

Big Sandy Independent School District is seeking an experienced, student-centered educational leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools. The Superintendent will serve as the district’s chief executive officer and will work closely with the Board of Trustees, staff, students, families, and community to provide strong leadership and advance the district’s mission and vision.

Position Overview

The Superintendent is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operation of Big Sandy ISD and serves as the primary educational and executive leader of the district. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees to implement Board goals and policies, support high-quality instruction, maintain sound fiscal and operational practices, develop and retain outstanding staff, and strengthen relationships with students, families, staff, and the community.

• Experience with school district budgeting, facilities, human resources, and long‑range planning.
• Experience building strong relationships with staff, families, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge and experience with Texas school district accountability systems and requirements.
