Job summary

Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) is seeking SUN Support Staff for the Schools Uniting Neighborhoods program across Reynolds and Centennial districts. Roles are on-call, hourly, without benefits, located at multiple school sites in the Portland area.

Responsibilities include running after-school programs, assisting with parent workshops, and helping with events. A background check through the Oregon Department of Education is required, and experience with youth in schools is

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check through Oregon Department of Education.
• High School degree or equivalent preferred. Experience in the field may be considered as equivalent.
• Experience working directly with youth in groups of 15 or more is preferred.
• Experience planning and implementing lesson plans, classroom management and student behavior management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow school district and IRCO safety protocols related to working with youth in school communities.
• Create, develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum for youth enrichment classes (art, sports, cooking, science, music, writing, etc.).
• Record and report accurate attendance to SUN Manager.
• Encourage and assist youth with homework and support at school family nights and events.
