Job summary

Vocational Guidance Services in Ohio is seeking a Manager of Summer Youth & Placement Services to lead placement staff, oversee community-based work adjustment, Pre-ETS services, and vocational evaluation opportunities.

You will plan and run the summer youth program, hire and supervise job coaches, coordinate transportation, complete reports, and ensure payroll accuracy while aligning services with referrals and employer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, and four years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Must have a CESP or complete during an agreed upon timeframe (3–6 months) upon hire.
• Demonstrated skills in salesmanship and marketing.
• Basic knowledge of computer operations, and Microsoft software applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing placement staff and ensuring department budget goals are met, including placement services, community-based work adjustment/assessments, Pre-ETS services, and/or vocational evaluation.
• Execute all components of the summer youth program: planning sites, managing transportation, completing reports, hiring and onboarding job coaches, and payroll.
• Hire and supervise all department job coaches including summer youth and placement, assign and train coaches.
• Customize services to meet referral sources and area employers' needs; grow services and align with vocational goals.
• Develop employer sites for summer youth programming and coordinate vocational specialists on site; maintain high-frequency communication with placement team.
• Manage a caseload of less than 15 and facilitate placement into long-term employment aligned with individual goals.
• Assist program participants in job search with solid skills and coordinated service support; comply with CARF requirements.
