Job summary

Matrix Design Group LLC in Newburgh, IN, seeks a Test and Validation Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to support quality and reliability across software and hardware. You will help develop testing frameworks, run functional, regression, performance, and safety tests, and document results while collaborating with design and engineering teams.

The role is paid and based in our climate-controlled lab; you will gain hands-on experience with lab tools, automation, and CI pipelines under the guidance

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with lab tools and hardware test setups.
• Proficient in Python, Java, or C++ for test scripts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training to gain proficiency with lab tools and testing procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements.
• Develop and implement a testing framework and define testing parameters based on product input.
• Implement the testing framework to monitor, document results, and troubleshoot.
• Develop test environments and test cases for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Monitor safety measures through production stages.
• Provide feedback to improve tested products.
• Analyze test data, detect issues, and track root causes.
• Build automated testing systems for regular product testing.
• Identify test scenarios, test data, and test cases covering functions and use cases.
• Perform functional, regression, performance, usability, compatibility, and security testing.
• Utilize automated testing tools to increase efficiency and repeatability.
• Report and track defects in designated bug tracking system.
• Collaborate to implement and maintain integration tests and CI pipelines.
• Create and maintain documentation for test plans, cases, results, and processes.
• Generate testing reports communicating progress, results, and issues.
