Job summary

Matrix Design Group LLC in Newburgh, IN is seeking a Test and Validation Engineer Intern for a 2027 Summer Internship. You will assist in developing testing frameworks and validating hardware and software in a climate-controlled lab.

Work with cross-functional teams to design tests, analyze data, and document results. This paid internship offers hands-on experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes and NI hardware, and collaboration with engineers and product managers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience using common lab tools, such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzer, NI LabVIEW, NI DAQ, and Digital Multi‑Meters (DMMS).
• Experience in mechanical and electrical fixturing and basic drawing.
• Proficiency in using testing tools and frameworks for both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) to develop and maintain test scripts.
• Familiarity with version control systems, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and convey testing results.
• Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training to gain proficiency with lab tools and testing procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and specifications.
• Develop a comprehensive testing framework and define testing parameters from product design input.
• Implement the testing framework to monitor, document results, and troubleshoot.
• Aide in developing test environments and test cases for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Monitor safety measures and standards through production stages.
• Provide feedback to improve tested products and analyze test results.
