Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to support Site, Transportation, Structures and Water Resources projects. You will engage in field surveys, data collection, and collaboration with the CDI team to contribute to building stronger communities.

The internship offers hands-on experience, mentorship, safety training, and exposure to Trimble and Leica survey equipment. Expect 30–40 hours per week with a 6–7 am start and travel up to 15% as needed.

Qualifications

• Hours 30-40 weekly with early start (6–7 am).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Work in outdoor elements; field-based duties.
• Team-oriented with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform boundary surveys to establish legal property lines.
• Perform topographic surveys for ground contours and features.
• May perform construction surveys for municipal, private, and roadway projects.
• Use Trimble robotic, conventional and GPS equipment and Leica 3D scanning to collect data.
• Import field data daily and maintain professional field notes.
• Keep equipment well-maintained and report any issues.
• Adhere to CDI safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Travel 10-15% to various job sites.
• Pursuing a degree in survey, geography or survey drafting is a plus.
