Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated in Gainesville, VA is seeking a Summer 2027 Survey Intern to assist a survey crew with boundary, ALTA, topographic, and right-of-way surveys using the latest equipment and software. This internship provides hands-on field experience on diverse projects and fosters professional growth.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering, GIS, or Planning
• Previous internship experience is a plus
• Must have good Mathematical skills
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must have good communication skills
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check
• Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions; able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be willing and able to travel for extended periods
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist the field supervisor with all aspects of the daily crew workload
• Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations
• Ensure safekeeping of equipment
• Ensure that vehicles are supplied and kept in an orderly fashion ready for duty
