Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Land Survey Intern for Summer 2027 in the Danville, VA area. You will support a survey crew on boundary, ALTA, topographic and other surveys using the latest equipment and surveying technology.

Responsibilities include assisting the field supervisor with daily workload, data collection, and operating survey instruments, while complying with safety regulations. This summer intern program offers hands-on experience and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Minimum).
• Good mathematical skills.
• Good computer and data collector skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid driver''s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
• Dependable.
• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; stand for long periods.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Willing and able to travel for out of town assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the field supervisor with all aspects of the daily crew workload.
• Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations.
• Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors.
• Operate survey total stations, data collectors and levels.
• Daily care and charging of instrumentation.
