Job summary

Dewberry's Gainesville, VA office is seeking responsible Survey Interns for Summer 2027 to join a survey crew performing boundary, ALTA, topographic and related surveys with the latest equipment. Interns assist the field supervisor, work safely, and may travel; housing stipend might be available for eligible candidates.

Applicants pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, GIS or Planning with math, computer and communication skills and a valid driver's license

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering, GIS, or Planning
• Previous internship experience is a plus
• Must have good Mathematical skills
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must have good communication skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check
• Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions; able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be willing and able to travel for extended periods
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus

Dewberry is currently seeking responsible, highly motivated, and detail oriented individuals to join our Gainesville, VA office as a Survey Intern for Summer 2027. An Intern Surveyor must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey crew assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, land developmentand construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

Salary Range

$18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.
