Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Land Survey Intern for Summer 2027 in the Danville, VA area. The position supports boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of-way, and construction surveys using the latest equipment and surveying technology.

The intern will be part of a survey crew and contribute to field data collection and office processing. The program offers hands-on project experience, safety-focused work, and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals while contributing to meaningful projects

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required (minimum).
• Strong mathematical skills and data handling.
• Good computer and data-collection skills.
• Effective communication abilities are essential.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass driving record check.
• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather and terrains.
• Willing to work overtime and travel for out-of-town assignments.

Dewberry is currently seeking a Land Survey Intern for Summer 2027. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail oriented individual interested in joining our Land Surveyingteam in the Danville, VA area. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment as a key member of a survey crew assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way acquisition, transmission line, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Must be willing and able to travel for out of town assignments.

Salary Range

$18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.
