Job summary

WSP USA in Lawrenceville, NJ is offering a Full Time Structural Engineering Intern position as part of our Summer Internship Program. This temporary role targets undergrad or graduate students enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering program.

The 12-week program begins May 17, 2026 (start date flexible). Interns will assist with project research, preliminary design calculations, field work, and documentation while mentored by senior staff.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering, or related, Undergraduate/Graduate program with anticipated graduation August 2028 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Structural Engineering and desire to advance skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven safety record and ability to follow policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and policies.
