Job summary

WSP USA in Herndon, VA is seeking a Full‑Time Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer Internship Program. You will work with senior staff on real projects, building technical, social, and ethical skills through hands‑on experience during a 12‑week schedule that starts May 17, 2027.

The start date may be flexible. Open to undergraduates or graduates enrolled in Civil/Structural programs with a December 2027 or later graduation.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program with graduation after Dec 2027.
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States.
• Interest in Structural Engineering and willingness to learn from senior staff.
• Ability to take direction and communicate with engineers and non-engineers.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering and assist with field work.
• Assist with preliminary design calculations and project research.
• Support preparation of final design plans and cost estimates.
• Help maintain project documentation and training on assigned tasks.
