Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a full-time Structural Engineering Intern for the Lawrenceville, NJ office. This temporary position targets students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs and offers exposure to real projects alongside senior staff during a 12-week summer internship.

As part of the Developing Professionals Network, interns gain mentorship, training, and opportunities to participate in project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering undergraduate or graduate program with anticipated graduation Aug 2028 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start date.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Ability to take direction and execute projects under supervision.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and common software/tools.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
