WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Structural Engineering Intern to join the Herndon, VA office as part of the Summer Internship Program. The internship is targeted at students in an Undergraduate or Graduate Civil/Structural Engineering program for a 12-week period beginning May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

No relocation or housing assistance is provided. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects, gaining mentorship, exposure to design calculations, field work, and documentation

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Structural Engineering and desire to advance skills related to WSP's work.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by company policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsabilités

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical and professional skills.
• Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
