Job summary

WoodmenLife invites a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Omaha. You will assist the Business Technology division, gaining real-world experience across planning, execution, and evaluation of projects in the insurance industry.

You'll work on Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, and software development using Java, C#, .NET, and Python, while participating in Agile ceremonies and collaboration with development teams. Mentorship and community impact are emphasized during the 10-week program.

Qualifications

• Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college with major in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• GPA 3.5 or higher.
• Available to work 38.75 hours per week.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong S.T.A.R. customer service mindset.
• Passion for making an impact in local communities.
• Effective collaboration and teamwork.
• Experience with software development and code repositories.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to build software solutions using Microsoft technologies, with a focus on Azure services.
• Gain hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including pipelines and work items for CI/CD workflows.
• Write, debug, and test code in Java, C#, .NET, and Python.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Summarize and present capstone internship experiences highlighting project outcomes and learnings.
