Job summary

WoodmenLife invites a Quality Assurance Intern for Summer 2027 to support the Business Technology division. The role involves hands-on testing across functional, integration, and regression activities while gaining experience with test automation concepts in an Agile environment.

You will participate in weekly intern cohorts, receive mentorship, and contribute to testing deliverables that support system reliability and performance for the organization’s insurance platforms.

Qualifications

• Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college with area of study in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields.
• Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA.
• Ability to work 38.75 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Meet weekly with Internship Cohort and leadership to discuss progress and projects.
• Summarize and present capstone presentations including outcomes, skills, and learnings.
• Serve as a key member of the Agile intern team as Systems Test Engineer.
• Create detailed test cases based on business and technical requirements to validate functionality.
• Apply attention to detail to ensure outputs meet quality standards.
• Perform functional, integration, and regression testing to support system reliability.

Quality Assurance Intern - Summer 2027

WoodmenLife is looking for a Quality Assurance Intern to join our team!

Ready to make an impact this summer? In this role, you will assist with a variety of administrative functions by providing support that will help the Business Technology division meet daily objectives. Accomplished through exposure to the planning, execution and evaluation stages of various work projects and initiatives, to gain workplace experience in the insurance industry.

We are looking for someone to:

• Gain broad exposure to the WoodmenLife organization by meeting weekly with the Internship Cohort, collectively with Executive Leadership, and one-on-one with leaders at the division level.
• Summarize and present capstone presentation of the internship experience including project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings.
• Serve as a key member of the Agile intern team through the Systems Test Engineer role.
• Learn to create detailed and effective test cases based on business and technical requirements to validate delivered functionality.
• Apply strong attention to detail to ensure that development outputs meet expected results and quality standards.
• Gain hands‑on experience performing various types of testing, including functional, functional integration, and regression testing, to support system reliability and performance.
• Explore foundational concepts in test automation, including writing and executing automated test scripts using relevant tools and technologies.
• Demonstrate eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies and practices that enhance test automation and overall QA efficiency.
• Collaborate with business units and development teams to support testing activities and manage test data for accurate and meaningful results.
• Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, or other documentation to communicate the outcomes and impact of quality assurance activities to stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives, to deliver high‑quality software in a collaborative environment.

We Need Someone Who Has:

• Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college with area of study in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields
• Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA
• Ability to work 38.75 hours per week
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while working collaboratively.
• Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
