Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a temporary Research Assistant in Spanish for the 7-week summer session on the Middlebury campus, Vermont. The role supports faculty projects in Second Language Acquisition, including intercultural development and L2 linguistics.

Lodging and a complete meal plan are provided in addition to the salary. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background, native or near-native Spanish and English proficiency, and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred; advanced degree a plus.
• Native or near-native proficiency in target language and English, oral and written.
• Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both oral and written).
• Ability to work with people of all ages and levels (students, professionals, and colleagues).
• Must be willing to take initiative and assume responsibility, but also work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analyses for research projects.
• Perform linguistic transcriptions of recorded interviews.
• Assist with data segmentation and placement test digitization.
• Contribute to related tasks in second language acquisition projects.
