Job summary

NiSource invites applicants to join its Summer Renewable Generation Internship, a 12-week program starting May 2027 in Wheatfield, IN. You will work under guidance of renewable generation staff on projects to meet utility facility needs and gain project management exposure.

Participation helps you build professional relationships across NiSource and develop practical experience in data collection, field measurements, and interpreting legal agreements while supporting emergency response readiness

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in an ABET-accredited four-year program in engineering, business, or operations.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week.
• Proficient with PC applications; strong skills with M365.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist renewable generation staff on projects to meet facility needs.
• Provide project management support for electric generation facilities.
• Perform field measurements and data collection.
• Read and interpret legal agreements and create work orders/purchase requisitions.
• Support safety and adapt to various assignments as needed.
