Job summary

MEB General Contractors in Hampton Roads, VA invites applications for its Summer 2027 Internship Program – Project Engineer Track. This paid internship provides hands-on experience supporting active projects in both the field and office.

As an intern, you will work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and field teams to learn planning, coordination, and delivery of complex projects. You will gain exposure to documentation, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, quality,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Construction Management or related field
• Interest in construction, project management, and field operations
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Spend time in the field learning construction methods, safety standards, and site operations.
• Assist with project management processes: submittals, RFIs, change orders, materials tracking.
• Review submittals from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support tracking job progress and updating project schedules.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on tasks.
• Communicate deliveries, field activities, and other project needs to subs/ suppliers.
• Assist with change orders involving owners, subs, and suppliers.
• Help organize permits, inspections, and utility coordination.
• Gain exposure to estimating, project engineering, and field supervision.
• Complete a capstone project summarizing your experience.
