The Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking an Anticipated Opening Special Events Instructor for the Summerfest program at Chelmsford Community Education Center. This is a seasonal, non-benefited role running July 6 through August 14, with hours 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Qualifications

  • Experience in early childhood or elementary education required.
  • Ability to manage a seasonal program and supervise children.
  • Flexibility to work morning or afternoon; non-benefited role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly special events and coordinate activities, including prep and cleanup.
  • Supervise children throughout the day.
  • Maintain a special event schedule and adjust events as needed.
  • Create daily out-of-the-box challenges for students.
  • Plan a weekly large event (e.g., karaoke, mini-play, dance party).
  • Be self-motivated with a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Assist in keeping inventories.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work morning or afternoon shifts and 4 of 6 weeks; extra planning hours available.
  • 4 hours of pre-planning before Summerfest opens.
