This will be a Seasonal, non-benefited position running July 6th-August 14th. The weekly hours will vary based on the needs of the program. Program hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ability to work morning and afternoon shifts will be required.
Job Description: We are looking for a part-time Special Events Instructor for a leadership position during full day summer program.
Job Goal: To assist in providing an enriching, exciting, and fun summer experience to the children enrolled in our Chelmsford Community Education Summer Programs, ensuring all participants have a memorable time during any activities provided.
Candidates must be willing to meet with Summerfest Supervisor prior to summer to develop a basic fun and educational theme-based plan, with a focus on their area of activities. During the Summer candidates must implement plans and be able to adapt planned activities based upon the children's age, abilities, and interest level. Candidates must also be willing to inform Supervisors of damaged or needed equipment, be willing to help oversee Supportive Staff Members in their area, able to offer positive reinforcement to all children, maintain a positive attitude as well as a professional demeanor, and perform other duties as assigned. The candidate should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have a flexible mindset allowing them to adapt to sudden changes in plans (for example, rainy days, in house visitors, occasional changes to schedule).
