Job summary

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is hosting a Summer 2027 Program Development Internship in Troy, MI or Austin, TX. You will gain hands-on experience in enterprise project management, process improvement, data analysis, and technology integration across large-scale real estate development initiatives.

Reporting to the Lead Program Development Manager, you’ll support project coordination, governance, and reporting activities while learning best practices in organizational development

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Interested in project management, process improvement, business operations, or data analytics, demonstrated through coursework, projects, extracurricular activities, or previous internship experience.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective communicator who can collaborate across multiple teams and present information clearly.
• Exposure to project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Asana is a plus.
• Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Eager to learn, take initiative, and contribute to meaningful projects.
• Experience with project management, reporting, or process mapping tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tracking and updating project schedules, timelines, milestones, and portfolio activities.
• Support the collection, organization, and maintenance of project documentation, including meeting notes, status reports, risk logs, and action item trackers.
• Participate in project meetings, document key discussion points, and follow up on assigned action items.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of project dashboards, portfolio reports, and tracking tools.
• Gather, validate, and organize project, operational, and performance-related data.
• Support efforts to maintain accurate business data and reporting systems.
• Conduct basic analysis of project timelines, resource allocation, and key performance indicators.
• Prepare reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document current-state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Research industry best practices related to project management, process optimization, and reporting methodologies.
• Assist with updating standard operating procedures, process documentation, and process libraries.
• Support the evaluation and deployment of project management, reporting, and analytics tools.
• Participate in user testing activities and assist with documenting system requirements and feedback.
• Create user guides, process documentation, and training materials for new tools and processes.
• Prepare presentations, visual reports, and project updates for leadership and stakeholders.
• Draft communications, meeting summaries, and stakeholder updates.
• Respond to requests for project documentation, data, reporting, and analysis support.
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
