Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is offering a Student Nurse Extern I position for nursing students currently enrolled in BSN or ADN programs. The program runs for 9 weeks full-time with 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Two cohorts are available May 17, 2027 - July 16, 2027 and June 14, 2027 - August 13, 2027 across multiple campuses. Eligible students have completed sophomore year in BSN or first year in ADN and must maintain current BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BSN program with sophomore year completed.
• Enrollment in an ADN program with first year completed.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Follows treatment plan as directed by licensed personnel.
• Performs tasks: vital signs, intake/output, glucometry, specimen collection, ADLs, restocking supplies.
• Assists with admitting process and documents appropriately.
• Ensures patient comfort and satisfaction with service.
• Communicates changes in patients' conditions to the RN.
• Maintains confidential and compliant documentation and safety standards.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence and participates in ongoing learning.
