Job summary

Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking an energetic music teacher for a summer program at Chelmsford Community Education Center. The role supports grades 1-6, delivering age-appropriate instruction and introducing various instruments.

Candidate must manage groups of elementary students in a classroom setting, contribute to a final week performance, and commit to July 6, 2026 through August 14, 2026. Hours are 30–40 per week with dates to be determined.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and minimum age of 18 years required.
• A degree in the area of job posting is preferred but not required; evidence of previous experience expected.
• Must be able to pass a CORI check.
• Must have reliable transportation and be punctual.
• Must be available Monday through Friday during dates posted above.
• Must have experience and confidence in managing a classroom of elementary aged students.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate instruction for grades 1-6.
• Submit weekly lesson plans to the program supervisor.
• Work directly with groups of children.
• Set up and clean up the workspace.
• Coordinate a short play for students to perform at the end of the week.
