Job summary

North Atlantic Industries, Inc is seeking an Intern - Manufacturing Engineer for Summer 2027. You will support mechanical and manufacturing engineering activities for aerospace electronic products, gaining hands-on experience with mechanical design, production processes, tooling, fixtures, and shop-floor problem solving.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
• Possess foundational understanding of mechanical design, engineering drawings, and manufacturing principles.
• Experience with 3D CAD software through coursework, academic projects, employment, or a previous internship.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• U.S. Person status required (citizen or Green Card) with verification documents at hire; some roles require U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update mechanical drawings and engineering change documentation.
• Support mechanical design and detailing for new and existing products.
• Design and develop fixtures, tooling, gauges, and other production aids under engineering guidance.
• Create and update work instructions, process documentation, inspection requirements, and supporting visual aids.
• Assist with prototype builds, engineering trials, process validation, and data collection.
• Support continuous improvement projects involving workflow, cycle time, scrap, capacity, and production efficiency.
