Lifeguard Job Description

The primary responsibility of a Lifeguard is to ensure the safety of patrons at an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Responsibilities include enforcing pool rules, maintaining water quality, record keeping, and ensuring a clean, enjoyable environment. Lifeguards must report unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to their supervisor.

Being a Seasonal Lifeguard is the PERFECT summer job! Pool schedules are flexible with summer vacations. Instead of indoor internships, enjoy outdoor work, make money, and learn lifelong skills. Remember, the role of a Lifeguard is serious because someone's life might depend on you!

Lifeguard Requirements

• Minimum age of 15 years by the hire date or last day of the lifeguard course
• Availability for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends (Saturday-Monday)
• Availability to work all weekends during summer (Friday-Sunday)
• Professional conduct, attentiveness, and focus
• Current Nationally Approved Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain them before the season

Experienced, motivated Lifeguards with excellent customer service, organizational, and leadership skills may be considered for Pool Manager roles, with more responsibilities and higher pay. Interested? Discuss this in your interview.

The season begins on Saturday, May 25, 2025, and ends on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Pay rate: $16.70/hr - $18/hr + Overtime (based on experience). Bonus and incentive opportunities are available! Ask how to qualify for a $250 bonus!
