Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. is seeking highly motivated students for its Summer Internship Program in Worcester, MA. The Technology team offers hands-on software development experience across Java, Python, and C++, with exposure to Generative AI frameworks and GenAI patterns.

Mentors will guide collaboration, project work, and a final presentation to leadership. You will gain real-world experience, participate in development workshops, and contribute to cross-functional projects focused on

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
• Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program
• Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software background preferred
• Experience in prompt engineering
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps tools (ex: MLflow, Kubeblow) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist in software development using languages such as Java, Python, or C++
• Gain hands on experience with Generative AI frameworks
• Understand GenAI patterns such as RAG, Vector Databases
• Integrate GenAI models, including REST APIs, microservices, or cloud-native architectures
• Perform in Core Java - understanding OOP concepts and Java syntax
• Work closely with senior developers and mentors to research, design, and implement web technologies
• Understand our users end to end experience, and find ways to enhance it
• Adhere to all quality standards and procedures
• Collaborate with project team members during development process
• Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership at the close of the internship
